Sheffield CAB Debt Support Unit

The Court of Appeal is hearing the case of A2 Dominions v Godfrey on 17^th and 18^th May.  This case should clarify the landlord’s rights to claim possession following the inclusion of rent arrears in a Debt Relief Order.  It may be a few weeks before judgment is handed down.

In the meantime the DRO Unit has issued Guidance that expenditure on rent arrears may only be included on the DRO application form if there is a Suspended Possession Order in place.
